Carseat Safety?
This is one of my passions in life and I hope to one day educate new and experienced parents on this topic once I become certified. There is nothing more concerning when I see a one year old forward facing in the car going down the road. This concerns me because forward facing your child too early could pose a high risk to the child. First let's clear up all the myths and reasons why people think they should turn their child around too early. (Rearfacing Carseat Myths Busted!) So, after reading that, does it still not change your mind about extended rear facing? (Watch this: Grandfather's True Story) So, before you decide to turn your child around to forward face, please research and make sure that it is the best decision for the child! (Here is a useful very informative video and additional information on carseats) What car seat would I recommend? I would recommend the Diono Radian RXT. Yes, it is pricey but its one of the safest on the market and grows with the child until they are fully out of a car seat. So, you will not have to buy another car seat once you invest in this one. It also rear-faces up to 45lbs and 44' which can keep your child rear-facing for a long time which is safer! I love love love this car seat!
